“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13, KJV)
Let’s break this verse down word by word. “I can” speak of ability and possibility. “Do” is an active verb, suggesting continuous action, not a one-time event. “All things” means whole, everything, without exception. “Through” indicates a channel, emphasizing our connection to the source – “Christ“. “Which strengtheneth” means to make strong, to empower, to enable. Finally, “Me” brings out the personal touch because while this is a universal truth, it must be personally appropriated. Prayer Six: Manifested Victory
“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10). This verse reveals that our response to adversity is a measure of our spiritual strength. Failing, fainting, falling, and faltering in the day of trouble is proof that you have not received strength from the Lord. The goal isn’t just to survive difficulties but to demonstrate God’s victorious power through them, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (1 John 5:4).
