Supernatural Advantage in Spiritual Warfare

Why does a believer need supernatural advantage?
The seen world is influenced by the unseen. Just as a baby in the womb is affected by what the mother consumes, the natural realm is shaped by spiritual forces. Life is not fair; it is supernatural. To live securely and permanently, we must gain supernatural advantage.
Life is Not Fair
Life is not fair because there are demonic spirits actively operating in the affairs of men. The Bible reveals in Revelation 12:9 and 12 that Satan and his angels were cast down to the earth and the sea, meaning humanity now lives in a battlefield where unseen forces influence outcomes.
This changes everything. It means life is not just about effort, intelligence, or opportunity, but also about spiritual forces at work behind the scenes. Natural strength alone cannot contend with spiritual opposition. A person may be qualified and hardworking, yet still struggle because there are demonic influences at play.
Life is Spiritual
When God made the material world, it came from the invisible realm (Genesis 2:4). Romans 1:20 explains that God’s eternal power and divine nature are revealed through what is seen. This means the physical world reflects spiritual realities. Understanding this gives believers a supernatural perspective.
We see this clearly when Jesus addressed the issue of the temple tax in Matthew 17:24–27. He instructed Peter to go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish that came up, and in its mouth would be a coin. Now, in the natural, a fish cannot bite a hook and hold a coin in its mouth at the same time. This shows that it was not the hook that produced the result. There was a spiritual force at work. The power of Jesus had already arranged the outcome before Peter acted. The physical action was only a point of contact, but the real operation happened in the unseen realm.
This reveals a deep truth. In many situations, what looks like a natural process is actually being governed by spiritual forces. The visible is only responding to the invisible. That is why believers must learn to engage the spiritual realm, because true control is not in what is seen, but in what is unseen.
Jesus’ Model for Supernatural Advantage
In Mark 16:17, Jesus makes it clear that the supernatural is not optional for the believer, it is the evidence of a living faith. He said that signs will follow those who believe, not a selected few, but all who truly walk in Him. These signs include casting out demons, speaking with new tongues, and operating in divine protection. This reveals that supernatural manifestation is the normal lifestyle of a believer. It is the proof that one carries spiritual authority in a world where demonic forces are active. Therefore, Christianity is not meant to be theoretical or emotional. It is meant to be powerful and demonstrative, showing that the kingdom of God has dominion over every opposing force.
In Luke 9:1, Jesus gathered His disciples and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. This was not just an instruction, it was an impartation. He equipped them with supernatural tools before sending them into the field. This shows that divine assignments require divine empowerment. Jesus did not rely on their personal strength, background, or experience. Instead, He armed them with authority that could override natural limitations and spiritual opposition. This moment can be seen as their transition from training to active deployment, where they were expected to enforce the realities of heaven on earth. It teaches us that victory in spiritual warfare comes from the authority given by Christ, not from human effort.
For the believer today, this means that success in life and victory in spiritual warfare depend on embracing and developing supernatural capacity. In a world where demonic forces influence outcomes, natural qualifications alone are not enough. A believer must intentionally build their spiritual life through prayer, obedience, and alignment with God’s Word. This is not about feelings, because God is not a feeling, and spiritual battles do not always announce themselves through emotions. It is about walking in authority, activating faith, and allowing the power of God to flow through your life. When this happens, the believer is no longer at a disadvantage but becomes a spiritual warrior who can consistently overcome unseen battles and shape outcomes in the natural realm.
How to Secure Supernatural Advantage
- Understand the spiritual design of life. Recognize that the invisible realm controls the visible.
- Pray with authority. Use scripture as your weapon.
- Walk in obedience. Supernatural advantage is ineffective if not aligned with God’s will.
- Apply kingdom principles. Faith, wisdom, and boldness release spiritual capacity.
- Protect your territory. Intercede for your family, home, and community to prevent strongmen from gaining influence.
In conclusion, securing supernatural advantage is not optional for the serious believer. It is essential for survival, victory, and fulfilling your divine purpose. By understanding the spiritual foundations of life, walking in obedience, and wielding kingdom authority, you position yourself to overcome any demonic opposition.
