The Altar Spirit Feedback

Altars are sacred places that serve as platforms for divine interaction between mortals [humans] and immortals [spirits].

In this previous lesson, I introduced the concept that altars possess a voice.

This voice operates in two distinct dimensions: the voice of the sacrifice and the voice of the supervising spirit.

In other words, altars have dual speakings, one that reaches from the earth into the spirit realm, and another that speaks from the spirit realm back into the earth.

While evil altars are associated with demonic spirits, holy altars are governed by the ultimate supervising spirit, the Holy Ghost.

My goal in this blog post is to help you understand the channels of divine communication by exploring the three primary feedback channels of the Holy Spirit: supernatural, spectacular, and spiritual.

[A] – Supernatural Feedback Channels

These manifestations often occur in the form of natural elements like the:

#1 – Wind

  • In 1 Kings 19:11, we see that the wind is a powerful symbol of God’s presence and intervention.
  • The Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles as a mighty rushing wind on the day of Pentecost [Acts 2:1-2].
  • During the plagues, the wind brought locusts to Egypt, signifying God’s judgment and deliverance [Exodus 10:13].
  • In these examples, the wind was a force that removed the obstacles that stood in their way.
  • Therefore, when you face challenges that seem insurmountable, you can call upon the God who answers by wind.

#2 – Earthquake

  • Earthquakes in the Bible often symbolize God’s power to shake the foundations of the earth, both physically and spiritually.
  • In Acts 16:26, an earthquake shook the foundations of the prison where Paul and Silas were held, causing the doors to open and the chains to fall off.
  • This event illustrates how God can use earthquakes to break every anti-Christ and demonic foundation that has closed doors, gates, and opportunities in your life.
  • Psalm 11:3 asks, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

  • The answer lies in the power of God to shake and rebuild those foundations according to His divine plan.

#3 – Fire

  • Fire is another powerful manifestation of God’s presence, often associated with His judgment and purification.
  • In 2 Chronicles 7:1-3, fire came down from heaven to consume Solomon’s offering, signifying God’s acceptance and presence among His people.
  • Also, in 1 Kings 18:24, Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to a contest by calling upon the God that answers by fire.
  • When God sent fire from heaven to consume Elijah’s sacrifice, it was a clear demonstration of His power and supremacy.
  • Fire not only represents God’s judgment but also His ability to consume every plan of the enemy that seeks to bring destruction, filth, shame, and reproach into our lives.

[B] – Spectacular Feedback Channels

These are the extraordinary manifestations of the Holy Spirit’s presence that often defy natural explanation.

They are visible to the human eye and are experienced in tangible ways such as;

#1 – Transformation

  • Isaiah 32 speaks of a nation plagued with problems, and the only solution proposed is the outpouring of the Spirit.
  • “Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a forest” [Isaiah 32:15]

  • The pouring of the Spirit transforms barrenness into fruitfulness, chaos into peace, and turmoil into rest.
  • He is the divine intervention that radically changes circumstances and brings life where there was none.

#2 – Revival

  • Acts 2:41-47 reflect the powerful and dynamic revival effects that followed after the Holy Spirit’s descent on the day of Pentecost.
  • It highlights the revitalizing and community-strengthening impact of the Holy Spirit.
  • The church experienced the following as a result of the Holy Spirit’s descent:
    • Apostolic Culture: A new way of living and teaching, focused on the apostles’ doctrine.
    • Signs and Wonders: Miraculous events that confirmed the truth of their message.
    • Fear of the Lord: A deep reverence and awe for God’s holiness.
    • Unity and Oneness: A shared sense of purpose and community among believers.
    • Generosity and Selflessness: Believers shared their possessions with those in need.
    • Favor and Living Witnesses: The early church found favor with people, and many were drawn to Christ through their witness.

[C] – Spiritual Feedback Channels

These are more internal and personal, involving direct communication from the Holy Spirit to our spirit.

These channels require a heightened sensitivity to the spiritual realm and often come in the four forms below;

#1 – Still, Small Voice

  • Sometimes, God speaks in a still, small voice, as seen in 1 Kings 19:12.
  • This voice is a gentle whisper that provides wisdom, guidance, and direction when we are at crossroads in our lives.
  • Unlike the wind, earthquake, and fire, the still small voice does not come to destroy but to instruct.
  • Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it.”

  • This voice is crucial because it helps us avoid wrong decisions that could lead to sorrow and regret.
  • Therefore, it is essential to seek out this voice before making significant decisions, as it will guide you to the right doors and provide the grace to sustain you along the way.

#2 – Inner Revelations

  • This is also called the ‘knowing of revelation’ through word of knowledge or wisdom, which are among the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to 1 Corinthians 12:7–11.
  • “Knowing” in a spiritual sense goes beyond mere intellectual understanding.
  • It is an inner, Spirit-led discernment of the true nature of things, as seen in Jesus’ life.
  • For instance, in John 13:1-3, Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world.
  • This knowing was not just an awareness of events but a deep understanding of His purpose and destiny.
  • Similarly, in Luke 6:6-8 and Mark 8:14-17, Jesus knew the thoughts of those around Him.
  • This knowing allowed Him to perceive the real intentions and thoughts of people, guiding His actions and responses accordingly.
  • Such discernment is a critical channel through which the Holy Spirit communicates God’s inner testimony about people, places, and situations.

#3 – Visions

  • This is also known as ‘the seeing of sight’ where we see beyond the physical realm into the spiritual realities through the eyes of the Spirit.
  • Visions can be categorized into three:
    • Night visions: In Job 20:4-8, dreams are referred to as “visions of the night.” Dreams occur when our physical senses are at rest, allowing the Holy Spirit to engage our spiritual senses.
    • Trance: Occurs when, though fully awake, we momentarily enter a state where we experience spiritual visions like in Acts 9:9-10.
    • Open visions: We perceive spiritual realities while fully conscious and going about our daily activities like the example found in Isaiah 13:1.

#4 – Signs

  • This is a non-verbal communication, physical or spiritual, that points to something other than itself.
  • Just as everything in the natural world, like pregnancy, weather, and hunger, has signs that announce them, so too do prophetic spiritual seasons.
  • Therefore, we must be extra sensitive and inquisitive about everything happening around us to avoid missing what God is saying or doing.
  • Examples of Signs:
    • Childbirth [Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 8:1-4; Luke 1:18-20]: Every child is given to point to a specific prophetic season in our lives.
    • Unusual Happenings [Matthew 2:1-12; Joel 2:30-31; Daniel 5:5-6]: Anything unusual in your environment should prompt you to seek the Spirit of wisdom.
    • Body Sensations [Acts 2:3]: For instance, you might feel something on your head, indicating an anointing.
    • Deaths: In 1 Samuel 2:34 the death of Hophni and Phinehas was a sign to Eli that his house would be judged by God.
    • Sudden Events: For instance, the earthquake that broke the chains of Paul and Silas in prison was a sign of God’s intervention in Acts 16:26.
    • People: The presence of some people in your life points to something. For example, Ananias presence in Paul’s like in Acts 9:10-19.

In conclusion…

Imagine the transformative power if you tuned into these channels with intentionality.

What victories could be won, what chains could be broken, and what divine purposes could be fulfilled if you fully embraced the feedback God provides?

This is not a call to passive observation but to active participation in divine communications that require your discernment.

It’s not enough to merely acknowledge these feedback channels; you must actively seek to understand and respond to them.

Therefore, the concept of altar spirit feedback challenges you to engage more deeply with the Spirit’s guidance, and let His feedback propel you into the fullness of the life in Jesus Christ [John 10:10].

So, the question is, will you remain a spectator in your spiritual journey, or will you rise to the challenge, and become attuned to the feedback of the Holy Spirit?

The choice is yours —your spiritual destiny and impact hang in the balance.
