“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” (Hebrews 12:24, KJV)
The spirit realm operates on legal principles. As believers, we have an adversary—the devil—who is referred to as “antidikos” in Greek, meaning an opponent in a lawsuit (1 Peter 5:8). This adversary accuses us before God, the Judge of all, day and night (Revelation 12:10). Our key verse, Hebrews 12:24, is taken from a passage (Hebrews 12:22-24) that describes the divine voices in Mount Zion that plead on behalf of believers.
One of those voices is the voice of the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than that of Abel. Why is it crucial for the blood of Jesus to speak on our behalf? First, because sin also has a voice. In Genesis 18:20-21, God said He would go down to Sodom and Gomorrah to see if the cry of their sin was as great as the report He received. Sin cries out for judgment, and we need a counteracting voice that speaks grace, mercy, and redemption.
Secondly, in the offices of the witnesses in heaven and earth, as described in 1 John 5:5-8, the blood is mentioned as one of the three approved witnesses on earth. Just as the blood of Abel bore witness against Cain (Genesis 4:10), the blood of Jesus bears witness on our behalf. It is a powerful testimony in the heavenly courts, and when it speaks for us, we can no longer be held in bondage.
In this post, we will explore the seven places where Jesus bled because of the cross, their significance, and how we can plead the blood of Jesus in these areas to claim our victory in Christ over demoniac oppressions and strongholds in our lives.

One, Willpower to Resist Temptation
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus faced immense agony. Luke 22:44 says, “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” This signifies the moment Jesus won back our willpower to resist temptation.
Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden led humanity into sin. Jesus, in another garden, submitted His will to the Father, reversing Adam’s failure. Now, through His blood, we can pray for strength to resist sin and obey God’s will. When struggling with temptation or weakness, plead the blood of Jesus over your willpower, asking Him to strengthen you.
Prayer: “Heavenly Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my will. Just as Jesus submitted to Your will in Gethsemane, help me to surrender my desires to You. Strengthen me to resist temptation and walk in obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Two, Healing for Your Body
At the whipping post, Jesus endured brutal scourging. Isaiah 53:5 declares, “With his stripes, we are healed.” The blood He shed from His back won back our physical healing. Sickness and disease entered the world through sin, but Jesus’ sacrifice provides healing. The blood of Jesus is still powerful to heal today. When facing sickness, declare the healing power of Jesus’ blood over your body.
Prayer: “Lord Jesus, by Your stripes, I am healed. I plead Your blood over my body and claim divine health. Every sickness and infirmity must bow to Your name. I receive my healing now. Amen.”
Three, Peace of Mind
The Roman soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus’ head, mocking Him. Yet, this suffering won back our peace of mind. Isaiah 53:5 says, “The chastisement of our peace was upon him.” Many battle anxiety, fear, and mental torment. The blood of Jesus, shed from His head, broke the curse of mental oppression. If your mind is under attack, plead the blood of Jesus over your thoughts and emotions.
Prayer: “Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind. Let Your peace guard my heart and thoughts. I reject fear, anxiety, and confusion. I receive Your perfect peace. Amen.”
Four, Dominion Over the Work of Your Hands
When Jesus’ hands were pierced, He won back dominion over the things we touch. Deuteronomy 28:12 says, “The Lord shall bless all the work of thine hand.” Many struggle with failure and financial lack. Jesus’ blood restores our ability to prosper. Plead the blood over your work, career, and finances, claiming God’s blessing.
Prayer: “Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my hands. Bless the work I do and cause it to prosper. Let everything I touch be fruitful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Five, Authority Over the Enemy
Jesus’ feet were pierced, signifying that He won back our authority. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions.” Many believers struggle to walk in victory. The blood of Jesus ensures we have dominion over every demonic force. Plead the blood of Jesus over your steps, declaring victory over the enemy.
Prayer: “Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus over my feet. Let my steps be ordered by You. I walk in victory and trample over every scheme of the enemy. Amen.”
Six, Inner Healing for the Brokenhearted
John 19:34 records how Jesus’ side was pierced, releasing blood and water. This signifies the healing of broken hearts. Many suffer from deep emotional wounds. Jesus’ blood heals inner pain and restores joy. If you are brokenhearted, plead the blood of Jesus for emotional healing.
Prayer: “Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my heart. Heal my wounds and restore my joy. Fill me with Your love and peace. Amen.”
Seven, Deliverance from Iniquities
Isaiah 53:5 says, “He was bruised for our iniquities.” Bruises result from internal bleeding, signifying Jesus’ suffering for our inner struggles. Iniquities are generational sins passed down through families. Jesus’ blood delivers us from these cycles. If you struggle with generational curses or strongholds, plead the blood of Jesus for deliverance.
Prayer: “Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus over my life and family. Break every generational curse and set me free. I walk in the righteousness of Christ. Amen.”
In conclusion, the blood of Jesus is our most powerful weapon in spiritual warfare. It speaks better things on our behalf and ensures our victory in every area of life. As we plead the blood in prayer, we activate its power and enforce Christ’s triumph in our lives. May we continually claim the benefits of Jesus’ sacrifice and live in the fullness of His redemption. Amen.
